Summit Area YMCA is seeking a dependable Gym Supervisor to help create a safe, welcoming gym environment at Summit and Berkeley Heights branches. The role involves overseeing gym activities, assisting members, setting up equipment, and enforcing rules with a focus on sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include monitoring daily gym usage, maintaining records, and supporting special events. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and obtain CPR/First Aid if needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with gym equipment and operations.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Ability to perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsabilités

• Monitor gym activities and ensure a safe, inclusive experience for all participants.
• Reinforce gym rules, encourage good sportsmanship, and address inappropriate behavior.
• Set up and take down equipment including nets and hoops.
• Keep gym and storage areas clean, organized and secure.
• Assist instructors and support events as needed.
• Maintain daily activity and facility usage records and keep schedules current.
• Communicate incidents and safety concerns to the Sports Director.
• Follow YMCA safety procedures and complete required training.
