Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Part Time Music Program Leader to work with children and adults in the corps and community, planning and implementing a music program that teaches theory, performance, and values.

You will lead music and arts activities, plan weekly lessons, organize recitals, and coordinate summer camps, while motivating participants and promoting the mission in daily work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in music preferred, or extensive experience teaching music.
• Minimum of two years’ music experience with children or adults; performance experience preferred.
• No certifications/licenses required.
• Proven proficiency in music theory and a primary instrument.

Responsibilities

• Lead music and arts programs within the corps and plan weekly lesson curricula.
• Plan and attend all recitals and prep corps for year-end concert participation.
• Encourage participants to develop music skills and self-esteem.
• Organize performances and community activities to promote the mission.
• Encourage summer camp participation and assist with related planning.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
