Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Part Time Group Exercise Instructor in Waltham to lead diverse classes in a welcoming environment. The role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and community building while delivering engaging workouts for all fitness levels.

You will build relationships with members, stay current on wellness trends, and support participants in reaching their health goals while collaborating with Wellness staff and the Health and Wellness Director.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in Group Exercise.
• NCCA accredited certification (ACE, AFFA, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, etc.).
• Current certification if teaching a specific format (Yoga, Spin, Body Pump/Body Combat).
• Experience in health and wellness programming and group instruction.
• Understanding of marketing/special events.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed by supervisor.
• Supports members in achieving health goals and builds community.
• Keeps knowledge of wellness trends up to date via courses and training.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and YMCA staff.
• Adjusts approach to meet diverse abilities and cultural needs.
• Celebrates participant achievements and maintains class records.
• Follows YMCA policies and responds to emergencies.
• Resolves member issues professionally per YMCA values.
