Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a part-time Group Exercise Instructor to lead engaging group classes at Oak Square YMCA. You will support members in health and well-being, adapt to varied abilities, and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Minimum one year of group exercise experience is required along with an NCCA accredited certification and CPR/AED/First Aid. Perks include YMCA membership and program discounts.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in a group exercise setting.
• NCCA accredited certification (ACE, AFFA, NASM, NSCA, ISSA, etc.).
• If teaching a specific format, current certification required (e.g., Yoga, Spin, Body Pump).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Leads energizing, safe, and educational group classes as directed by supervisor.
• Answers questions to support members' health goals.
• Maintains wellness knowledge through courses and training.
• Builds relationships with members and helps connect them to the YMCA.
• Observes participants and adjusts to varied abilities and needs.
• Celebrates participants' achievements and progress.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records in the Group Exercise Management system.
