Job summary

Cape Ann YMCA in Gloucester, MA is seeking a Part-time Group Exercise Coordinator to help lead and grow our fitness programs. You will work closely with the Health & Wellness Director to coordinate instructor schedules, support program growth, and ensure our group classes are welcoming, engaging, and accessible.

This role requires a Group Exercise certification, at least 21 years old, and supervisory experience; CPR/First Aid certification is required or willing to obtain.

Qualifications

• Group Exercise certification is required.
• Additional certifications in areas of expertise are encouraged.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee group exercise classes ensuring safe, inclusive experiences.
• Monitor program success and participant feedback to improve classes.
• Instruct group exercise classes as needed.
• Coordinate and support staff, including hiring, onboarding, and training new instructors.
• Support wellness programs and events like Enhance Fitness, LIVESTRONG, and CornerStone.
• Track class attendance and monitor participation; assist payroll documentation.
