YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking a Group Exercise Instructor for the North Suburban YMCA. The role involves leading group classes in a safe, engaging environment and developing healthy habits among members under the Health and Wellness Director.

Certifications from a national body are required, with preference for NCCA-accredited credentials. The position is part-time with compensation per hour and requires CPR/AED/First Aid credentials, plus prior fitness programming experience.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in group exercise setting.
• NCCA accredited certification; preferred if multiple organizations.
• If teaching a specific group exercise format, current certification required.
• Experience in health and wellness programming and group instruction.
• Understanding of internal and external marketing or events.

Responsabilités

• Leads energizing, safe group classes as directed by supervisor.
• Answers questions to support members’ health goals.
• Maintains wellness knowledge via YUSA courses and external training.
• Builds authentic relationships with members and connects them to the YMCA.
• Observes participant capabilities and adjusts classes accordingly.
• Celebrates achievements and progress of participants.
• Keeps accurate class attendance using MotionVibe system.
• Follows YMCA policies and responds to emergencies.
• Resolves member issues professionally per YMCA values.
