TITLE:
Part Time Groundskeeper
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED and/or relevant grounds work experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to bend, push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.
Valid driver's license with a clean record.
Ability to operate power tools and lawn equipment.
REPORTS TO:
Grounds Crew Leader
JOB GOAL:
Maintain grounds using simple tools, including planting, cultivating, pruning, and cutting plants, trees, shrubs, grass, and flowers.
Work is routine and repetitive; detailed instructions are provided, and issues are referred to a supervisor. Performance is evaluated based on grounds appearance.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
- Cuts lawns.
- Trims and edges.
- Prunes shrubs and trees.
- Removes damaged plant material.
- Rakes and disposes of leaves.
- Cleans grounds and removes litter.
- Shovels snow and applies salt and sand to prevent ice buildup.
- Plants and waters grass, flowers, and shrubs.
- Clears drainage ditches and culverts.
- Sharpen tools.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of groundskeeping and horticulture.
- Understanding of pruning, cultivation, and spraying requirements.
- Ability to perform minor repairs on equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Skill in using and sharpening gardening tools.
Terms of Employment:
Part-time, 25 hours/week, temporary, seasonal, at-will, non-exempt under FLSA.
Salary:
$15.00/hour, no health benefits.
Evaluations:
Performance assessments in accordance with board and policy guidelines.
