Job summary

Mechanicville City School District is seeking a part-time Laborer to support grounds and facilities. Hours are 8am-12pm, Monday through Friday, with duties including lawn care, field prep, event setup, and routine maintenance.

The role involves cleaning, painting, basic repairs, and operating equipment as needed. On-call availability for alarms and snow-related tasks is required as directed by the Buildings and Grounds Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Mowing and trimming of grounds and sports fields.
• Assists with the preparation of sports fields.
• Maintains school properties as directed.
• Sets up and takes down for events in the auditorium, cafeteria, gymnasium, etc.
• Loads and unloads supplies and materials.
• Performs lock up or opening of facilities as directed.
• Performs cleaning duties as requested.
• Painting and refurbishing work.
• Operates plow trucks, mowers and tractors as needed.
• Assists with snow removal and salting.
• Must be available for on call for alarms.
• Locker repairs and graffiti removal.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
