Job summary

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish & School in Essex, MD seeks a part-time, 10-month Groundskeeper Worker to maintain outdoor spaces and perform light building upkeep. Responsibilities include mowing, field lining, landscaping, package delivery, and assisting with athletic events.

Prior groundskeeping experience is preferred; a valid driver's license with clean record is required. The role supports the parish and school campus, with on-site duties and after-hours on-call availability.

Qualifications

• Previous groundskeeping and/or maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to operate landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, field-lining equipment).
• Basic knowledge of athletic field preparation preferred.
• Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift for extended periods; ladder safe.
• Valid driver’s license with fewer than 3 points.
• Compliance with safety policies to protect minors entrusted to our care.

Responsibilities

• Cut and maintain grass on lawns and athletic fields.
• Line and prepare sports fields for games and practices.
• Perform general landscaping tasks including leaf removal and debris cleanup.
• Deliver packages and materials to designated areas.
• Conduct minor building maintenance and repair tasks.
• Maintain indoor and outdoor spaces cleanliness and order.
• Assist athletic department with field setup and event prep.
• Support game-day operations and field inspections.
