Job summary

SpartanNash’s Family Fare in Allendale, MI is seeking a Part-time Retail Associate to help stock shelves and process transactions accurately while delivering friendly guest experiences.

You will perform front-end duties, assist customers with loyalty programs, ensure proper pricing, and maintain a clean, safe store environment in line with company policies.

Prior retail experience is preferred; excellent communication and customer service skills are valued as part of our People First culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills; interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.

Responsibilities

• Process financial transactions including cash, checks, credit cards, food stamps, WIC, loyalty cards, gift certificates, bottle refunds, voids and coupons accurately per policy.
• Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking products in required areas of the store.
• Run cash register, enroll guests in loyalty program, suggestive selling (lottery), and maintain a clean, neat service area.
• Ensure proper use of PLU codes; report pricing or signage errors.
• Maintain knowledge of store programs and product locations; communicate loyalty programs and in-store specials to customers.
• Comply with security, cash handling, product handling, and sale of restricted items.
• Maintain a clean and well-stocked department and outside grounds; follow safety and sanitation procedures.
