Job summary

Price Rite in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a Part Time Cashier/General Clerk to greet customers, scan items, and process transactions accurately. You will maintain clean, organized departments and assist in stocking, pricing, and rotating stock while delivering friendly service.

The role requires strong English communication, basic math, ability to stand for shifts, and willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English and understand instructions.
• Basic math skills required for transactions and making change.
• Ability to handle cash accurately and efficiently.
• Must be able to stand/walk for the duration of shifts.
• Adherence to health, safety and dress code policies.
• Operate store equipment as needed (case cutter, related tools).
• Lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Provide friendly, helpful service to customers.
• Maintain neat appearance and comply with company policies.
• Ability to work with a variety of products and avoid allergens.
• Tolerance of dust/cleaning agents; varying temperatures.
• Teamwork and reliability; punctual attendance.
• Able to climb ladders where required and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Check products received against invoices and prepare stock as needed.
• Operate checkout equipment, price items, and handle payments and change.
• Assist in stocking, pricing, and rotation of merchandise across departments.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Follow approved procedures for pricing, dating, stocking, and restocking.
