Job summary

Price Rite of Wethersfield is hiring for a Part-Time Cashier/General Clerk. The role focuses on friendly checkout service, accurate scanning, and handling payments while maintaining attractive, clean departments. Training covers multiple departments to build a well-rounded retail skill set.

Applicants must be 18+, able to lift up to 75 lbs, and adhere to safety and dress code policies. The position offers flexible hours, community discounts, and opportunities for advancement within Price Rite

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math skills.
• Ability to make change with US currency.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to adhere to health and civil code regulations.
• Ability to operate equipment such as slicer and U-Boats.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. regularly.
• Provide superior customer service.
• Dress according to company policy (white shirt, black pants, apron, name badge).
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed foods.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items.
• Meet all work schedules and time/attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Price, stock and rotate merchandise; ensure departments are neat and visually appealing.
• Provide accurate, friendly checkout service and handle payments and change.
• Perform essential job tasks in a safe, efficient manner following company policy.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Check products received against invoices and operate department equipment as required.
• Restock and price-mark products and maintain QA standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation and department procedures.
