Smart & Final, part of the Chedraui USA group, seeks a Part-time Associate for the Antioch, CA store location. You will stock, price, and merchandise, assist customers, operate registers, and help maintain store cleanliness and safety.

The role emphasizes friendly customer service, accuracy in pricing and labeling, and basic clerical tasks. Starting at $16.90 per hour, this position offers part-time hours and opportunities to grow with a long‑standing grocery retailer.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions and product labels.
• Proficient in writing simple correspondence.
• Comfortable presenting information in one-to-one and small group settings.
• Apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift up to 25 lbs, frequently lift up to 45 lbs, and occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills (extra credit).
• Retail Management Certificate (extra credit).

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned store sections – receive, stock, and price merchandise; check date codes for rotation.
• Clean and preserve sanitation standards in all indoor, outdoor, and parking areas.
• Operate cash registers: process payments, make change, handle cash, check, charge, and refunds when authorized.
• Provide friendly, efficient service by answering product questions and assisting customers with purchases.
• Perform basic bookkeeping: record lost or damaged goods and track store supplies.
