Job summary

Lumibility in Westbrook, CT is seeking a Development Associate to join our Development and Marketing team. This part-time role supports grant development, fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and community partnerships that strengthen philanthropic support throughout Connecticut.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has strong written and verbal communication skills with an interest in nonprofit fundraising and grant writing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience or strong interest in grant writing and fundraising.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience with donor management systems such as DonorPerfect is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and related business software.
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify grant funding opportunities from foundation, corporate, government, and community funding sources.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of grant applications, reports, and related documentation.
  • Maintain grant calendars, funding timelines, deadlines, and supporting records.
  • Collect and organize program data, outcomes, and success stories to support funding requests and donor communications.
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgment, communication, recognition, and stewardship activities.
  • Maintain accurate donor, prospect, gift, and fundraising records within donor management systems.
  • Support the planning and implementation of fundraising, donor, and community engagement events.
  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and outreach activities that promote Lumibility's mission.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with community partners, businesses, sponsors, and foundations.
  • Provide administrative support for development and marketing activities, including donor communications and mass mailings.
