Job summary

Hoxton Circle has partnered with a local client to hire a solid part-time temporary Accountant with strong government accounting skills to hit the ground running in Mountain View, CA. The role focuses on accurate reconciliations and supporting audit readiness.

Key duties include GASB fund accounting, payroll liability reconciliations, and assembling documentation for the annual audit. The assignment runs about 2 months with a possible extension and includes medical benefits and sick pay.

Qualifications

• GASB government accounting experience is required.
• Fund accounting experience across general funds, infrastructure, governmental funds, and enterprise funds.
• Must be able to pass a standard 7-year background check (misdemeanor/felony and Social Security trace).

Responsibilities

• Reconciles liability accounts related to payroll, ensuring accurate remittance to correct accounts.
• Reconciles accounts receivable for a limited number of recurring customers (e.g., fire department, utility billing).
• Reconciles deposit liability accounts tied to public works and construction projects.
• Prepares PBC schedules and supporting documentation for the annual external audit.
• Works on general ledger activity and Track It; reconciles sub-ledger activities.
• Uses Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) for reconciliation and reporting.
