Job summary

The Kitt Peak Visitor Center Gift Shop, part of NOIRLab, seeks a friendly, customer‑focused Part-Time Gift Shop Customer Service Representative. You’ll support retail operations, ticket sales, inventory management, and visitor experiences in a busy museum and observatory setting.

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, providing program information, handling POS transactions, and maintaining product displays. Weekends and some holidays required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of experience in retail, customer service, hospitality, tourism, or nonprofit setting.
• Experience operating a computerized POS system and handling cash accurately.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist visitors in person, by phone, and through other channels.
• Provide information about observatory programs, tours, exhibits, facilities, and services.
• Operate the POS system to process sales, exchanges, returns, and inventory adjustments.
• Accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, receipts, and daily balancing procedures.
• Sell visitor program and tour tickets using FareHarbor.
• Receive, stock, and organize merchandise and inventory shipments.
