Job summary

The Kitt Peak Visitor Center (KPVC) is seeking a Part‑Time Gift Shop Customer Service Representative to welcome visitors, answer questions, and support retail operations, ticketing, and inventory management.

As the first point of contact, you will process sales with the POS, handle cash, and assist with program and tour tickets. Weekend and holiday availability is required at this mountain‑top observatory near Tucson.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two years in retail, customer service, hospitality, tourism, or nonprofit setting.
Experience operating a computerized POS system and handling cash.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Willingness to work most weekends and some holidays.

Responsibilities

Welcome and assist visitors in person, by phone, and through other channels.
Provide accurate information about programs, tours, exhibits, facilities, and services.
Process sales, exchanges, returns, and inventory adjustments at the POS.
Sell tickets for visitor programs and tours using FareHarbor.
Receive, stock, and organize merchandise and inventory shipments.
Assist with the annual inventory process and generate reports.
Collaborate with the Visitor Center team and other departments.
