Job summary

MED13L Foundation seeks a board-certified genetic counselor for an educational, non-clinical role focused on family resources, education sessions, and community webinars. This part-time consulting engagement emphasizes clear communication, patient-centered materials, and facilitating connections to clinical genetics teams.

The engagement is remote, approximately 5 hours per week, with a 1099 contract and quarterly pacing with leadership. Compensation is hourly at $50–$60, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication, including explaining uncertainty and complex genetics to nonclinical audiences.
• Strong content-development skills, turning dense scientific material into clear, family-friendly resources.
• Sound judgment regarding scope of practice, consent, privacy, and referral pathways.
• Empathetic, family-centered approach and cultural responsiveness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain plain-language family resources on genetics and testing.
• Offer general educational sessions on MED13L Syndrome and care pathways.
• Host webinars and information-driven discussions for the community.
