Job summary

Colorado Department of Transportation is hiring a part-time General Labor I to maintain Shaw Creek Rest Area grounds and facilities, ensuring cleanliness and safe operation of mechanical features. The role requires a willingness to learn and basic custodial skills, with training provided by the state.

The position offers a 7:00 am – 3:30 pm schedule on Fri–Mon, with benefits including health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• No education or prior experience required.
• Custodial, grounds keeping and customer service experience desirable.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Clean facilities and restrooms, restock supplies, shampoo carpets, strip floors, wash windows and paint walls.
• Perform light demolition and repair work, replace tiles, caulk doors/windows and fixtures, remodel partitions.
• Light plumbing repairs such as replacing filters and water lines.
