Job summary

Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in the Adult Basic Education / GED Program. This is a pool, not a single opening, and may include substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.

Qualified applicants will hold a Master’s Degree in Education or related field, with two years of experience teaching basic skills to diverse adult learners, and Spanish fluency for Spanish GED instruction.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education, Adult Education, or related field.
• Two years of experience teaching basic skills to adult or high-school populations.
• Native or near native fluency in Spanish for Spanish GED Instruction.
• Reading instruction certificate, endorsement or coursework.
• Experience with Oregon Adult Basic Skills Learning Standards or other learning standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach Adult Basic Education / GED courses as assigned and needed within the pool.
• Prepare and deliver instruction for adult learners in the program.
• Maintain student records and contribute to program assessment when assigned.
