Montlawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home, part of Everstory Partners, seeks a licensed Funeral Director for part-time work in Raleigh, NC. The role emphasizes compassionate service to grieving families, team leadership, and coordination of funeral arrangements and services.

You will handle arrangements, embalmings, and service logistics while upholding legal and ethical standards, including paperwork, permits, and family support.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a licensed funeral director; 2 years of post-secondary education; graduate from an accredited school of embalming or mortuary science.
• Licensed embalmer or ability to obtain state license; meet licensing requirements.
• Strong concentration and sustained attention for work periods.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support families.
• Ability to lead a team and collaborate in a funeral home setting.
• Valid state driver’s license; availability for holidays, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to arrange funeral services, explain options, assist with casket selection and contracts.
• Perform embalming services and ensure proper preparation of remains.
• Coordinate service details, paperwork, and compliance documentation.
• Direct funeral services and visitation, support families, and manage pallbearers and clergy.
• Prepare permits and documents related to funerals and embalming.
• Maintain cleanliness of preparation areas and equipment.
