Job summary

Klain and Associates is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Part-Time Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations of three small businesses in highly regulated fields. You will work primarily in QuickBooks Online, keeping books current and audit-ready, while coordinating with an outside accounting firm for tax work.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of full-charge bookkeeping, experience with IOLTA trust accounts, and a strong ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of full-charge bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
• Experience with attorney trust / IOLTA accounts and three-way reconciliation.
• Experience in confidentiality-sensitive or government-regulated environments.
• Bank reconciliations and general ledger accounting expertise.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, current financial records for three small companies in QuickBooks Online.
• Record and categorize income and expenses across all three entities.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
• Perform three-way reconciliation of attorney trust (IOLTA) accounts and client ledgers.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
• Maintain vendor records and payment schedules.
• Track activity involving related entities accurately.
• Prepare month-end and year-end financial statements and notes.
• Coordinate with outside accounting firm on tax-related requests.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial records; maintain confidentiality.
