Food Lion in Jacksonville, NC is hiring for a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service and support store operations. You will greet customers, operate cash register, bag groceries, assist with To-Go orders, and keep the checkout area neat and stocked.

The role requires strong communication and the ability to multitask in a busy retail environment. Candidates should be at least a high school graduate, able to meet physical requirements, and willing to learn through CBT and on‑the‑job

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center duties.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group cold items together for bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under all baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for bag types.
• Scan customers' orders and handle payment transactions per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction and maintain cash control.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the customer's order to their car (Food Lion To-Go).
