Job summary

Food Lion in Mount Airy is seeking a customer service-focused associate to deliver fast, friendly service and maintain high front-end standards. You will greet customers, process transactions, bag groceries, and assist with To-Go orders when scheduled or needed.

Responsibilities include cash handling, ensuring accurate pricing, and maintaining a neat front-end area while following safety and store procedures. Prior retail experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt and group items for efficient bagging.
• Follow bagging procedures and handle payments per standard practice.
• Perform cash handling procedures and process transactions.
• Carry out Food Lion To-Go runner duties when scheduled or needed.
• Maintain clean and organized work station and front-end area.
• Assist with merchandising and store operations as needed.
