Food Lion in Maryville, TN is seeking a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service at the checkout and throughout the store. This role supports the Customer Service Manager and strives to maximize sales through excellent service.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, scanning items, handling payments, assisting with bagging, and keeping the front-end area neat and orderly while following cash-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsabilités

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group cold items for bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for the type of bags used.
• Scan customers' orders and handle the payment transaction per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error corrections and maintain cash control.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take their order to their car.
• Maintain a neat and clean front-end area and report any issues to the supervisor.
