Job summary

The YMCA of Upper Palmetto is seeking a Part Time Member Service Associate to provide accurate information on programs and policies, manage front desk operations, and support special events. Responsibilities include greeting members, processing memberships, handling cash, answering inquiries, and assisting with facility tours.

Ideal candidates are 18+ with strong communication and customer service skills, and will obtain CPR/First Aid/AED within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Strong public relations and interpersonal skills.
• General clerical and computer skills.
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
• Positive attitude and alignment with the YMCA mission.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of employment.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Critical thinking and decision making.
• Emotional maturity.
• Physical ability: lifting up to 25 lbs, mobility.

Responsibilities

• Greet all members and public with a smile and assist at front desk.
• Process online receipts for memberships and program registrations.
• Answer phone calls promptly and provide information on memberships and programs, directing calls as needed.
• Maintain and account for the daily cash drawer.
• Distribute items on loan from YMCA (balls, towels, racquets) as appropriate.
• Basic housekeeping in Front Office and related areas.
• Provide enthusiastic facility tours and answer questions from potential members.
• Control entry into the building via access control system.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures when required (doors, saunas, cash drawer checks).
• Engage in other duties related to member services as needed.
