Job summary

24 Seven Talent is seeking an experienced Technical Designer with a strong background in contemporary or luxury RTW to own construction, fit, and technical documentation across the line. The role focuses on manufacturing-ready design from development through production, ensuring quality, durability, fit, and construction standards.

You will author tech packs, lead fittings, and carry specifications through production while partnering with the Creative Director, patternmakers, and factories.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in technical design for contemporary or luxury RTW.
• Strong woven tailoring experience is essential.
• Expert knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, specs.
• Experience leading fittings and communicating corrections to patternmakers.
• Understanding of development from sample to production approval.
• Experience with domestic and overseas factories.
• Attention to detail and accurate technical documentation.
• Available to work independently in a part-time freelance capacity.

Responsibilities

• Author tech packs and BOMs; own specifications end to end.
• Carry specs through PP sample and TOP sample approval.
• Manage product wear testing.
• Maintain version control across tech packs, specs, and sample rounds.
• Lead fittings, approximately three per garment.
• Translate design direction into practical construction solutions.
• Partner with patternmakers to ensure proper fit and construction.
• Own grading, size charts, and clean flat-lay drawings.
• Serve as technical liaison to factories both domestic and overseas.
• Establish and maintain construction standards for factory partners.
• Troubleshoot construction challenges balancing design intent, quality, durability.
