Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Food Service Worker (Part-Time) to support University Housing and Dining on the UT Main Campus. This role emphasizes customer service, food preparation, and sanitation across various food service operations.

Eligible for a $2.00/hour shift differential for designated evening and weekend shifts, with benefits for part-time staff. 20 scheduled hours per week, on-site at UT Main Campus, and immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student at Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas.
• Experience working and preparing food in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility.
• Experience with operating standard kitchen equipment.
• Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining.

Responsibilities

• Serve high-quality food products including short-order and made-to-order items, and operate kitchen equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and processing transactions accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, kitchens, and restrooms; restock supplies as needed.
• Ensure proper food safety practices, temperature logs, and avoid cross-contamination.
• Assist in training and guiding student staff and new team members.
