Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is hiring a part-time Food Service Worker at UT Main Campus. The role supports customer service and food preparation across university dining operations, with shift differential and meal benefits during shifts.

Responsibilities include following recipes, operating POS, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring food safety. It is open to current Escoffier students in Austin and offers 20 hours weekly and a $18/hour base wage with additional differential pay.

Qualifications

• Must be a currently enrolled student at Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, Texas.
• Experience working and preparing food in a restaurant, commercial, or institutional facility.
• Experience with operating standard kitchen equipment.
• Ability to complete and maintain Food Safety Training required by University Housing and Dining.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality customer service and food preparation.
• Read, follow, and execute recipes; set up, stock, and clean serving areas.
• Operate POS system and process meals, cash, and card payments accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across dining areas, kitchens, and restrooms.
• Follow food safety guidelines, store and rotate food properly, and monitor temperatures.
