Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in Chicago is seeking a Food Runner to assist with daily service, take and deliver orders, and help prepare beverages. You will set tables, serve courses, and clear used dishes. The role emphasizes guest satisfaction and teamwork across hotel outlets.

The position requires fast-paced mobility, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with care. Competitive hourly pay, benefits, and growth opportunities are provided within a growing hospitality

Qualifications

• Previous customer service and some food & beverage experience required.
• Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for the entire shift.
• Must have a good sense of balance, be able to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull and wipe.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages orders, with appropriate garnishments and condiments to guests.
• Ensure all items are served promptly when ready.
• Coordinate timing so guests at a table are served together.
• Respond to questions with informed answers.
• Support other duties as needed.

Job Description Summary The Food Runner supports other staff members by handling basic tasks, such as taking and delivering orders, preparing beverages. Food Runner responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils

Job Description

• Serve food and beverages orders, with appropriate garnishments and condiments to guests
• Responsible for making sure all food items are served as soon as they are ready.
• Each guest seated at a table should be served together - Timing is important.
• Respond to questions with informed answers.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned

Pay Range

Pay range is $14.75 to $15.75 per hour. Pay rate outlined follows contract requirements.
