Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Food Runner in Chicago to support the dining team by taking and delivering orders, preparing beverages, and clearing tables.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages with garnishments and condiments.
• Ensure all items are served promptly when ready.
• Coordinate table service to ensure guests are attended together.
• Answer guest questions with informed responses.
• Stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring mobility.
• Lift, bend, kneel, push, pull, and wipe as needed (up to 50 pounds).
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description Summary

The Food Runner supports other staff members by handling basic tasks, such as taking and delivering orders, preparing beverages. Food Runner responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils.

Job Description

DUTIES:

• Serve food and beverages orders, with appropriate garnishments and condiments to guests
• Responsible for making sure all food items are served as soon as they are ready.
• Each guest seated at a table should be served together - Timing is important.
• Respond to questions with informed answers.
• Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for the entire shift.
• Must have a good sense of balance, be able to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull and wipe.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry food, beverage, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Pay Range

Pay range is $14.75 to 15.75 per hour. Pay rate outlined follows contract requirements.
