Job description

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a Food Service Assistant at Manheim Township School District. This is a part-time position school term (10 month) position that requires working during school hours (7:30 AM- 2:00 PM). Food Service Assistants are responsible for many tasks related to the service of school meals including, but not limited to, food preparation and service, cashiering, dishwashing, and trash removal. The Food Service Assistant is expected to complete all tasks efficiently and with a positive attitude.

The individual works with other members of the Department/Building in meeting goals and objectives in support of the District mission to provide a social and educational environment for the students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide great customer service at all times.
• Ability to fill in at all 9 buildings as needed.
• Be confident and proficient in Primero Edge to include cashiering in a fast paced environment.
• Basic computer skills
• Set up the serving line, assemble proper serving utensils, maintain accurate temperature logs, clean up between serving times.
• Serve students utilizing proper portion control.
• Assist with food preparation. Including but not limited to all fruit and vegetable preparation and/or meal preparation.
• Utilize proper food safety standards at all times.
• Wash and/or sweep floors and perform end-of-day cleanup.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Leader/Manager.

Requirements:

• - High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license
• - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• -Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• -Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
