Job summary

Haverford Township School District in Havertown, PA is seeking part-time Food Service Helpers for the 2026-27 school year. The roles support preparation, serving and basic sanitation of nutritious meals for students and staff in a fast-paced school kitchen.

Starting date is immediate. The position offers 4.5-hour shifts over 10 months. No experience is required, cashier experience is a plus, and candidates must be physically capable of lifting items and performing duties.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• No experience is necessary, but previous food service experience preferred.
• Cashier experience is preferred.
• Ability and personality to deal with students, teachers, other staff and the public.
• Physical capacity to perform all assigned duties.

• Cashier at serving times.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor of Food Service.

Part time food service helpers beginning with the 2026-27 school year.

To support the preparation, serving, and accounting of nutritious, eye appealing foods for students, teachers and other support personnel in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.

Responsibilities:

• Help prepare and serve hot and/or cold foods.
• Clean up preparation, serving area and equipment used during the day's work.
• Fill and break-down serving line.
• Assist with daily clean-up of pots, pans, utensils, counters, serving area, etc.
• Have working knowledge of safe operation of all equipment including ovens, steamtable, warmers, etc.

Hours: 10 months, 4.5 hours per day (hours vary)

Salary: $15.50 per hour
