Job summary

Manheim Central School District Food Services is seeking a Day-to-Day Substitute Cafeteria Assistant to support meal preparation and serving for students and staff in district cafeterias. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Obtain and maintain required clearances and employment trainings.
• Prior food service experience preferred; school or institutional experience a plus.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds frequently (50 pounds occasionally).
• Must demonstrate dependability, flexibility, and a service-oriented attitude.
• Substitute at least one day a school year to remain on the substitute employment list.

Job Description

The Substitute Food Service Assistant supports the daily operations of the district’s cafeterias by helping prepare and serve meals to students and staff. This role ensures that meal service runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently in accordance with state and federal nutrition standards. Substitute Food Service Assistants play an important role in maintaining a clean, welcoming, and positive dining environment for students.

This substituteposition is on an as-needed basis and is not guaranteed day-to-day work.
