TERI Inc. is hiring a Part-time Direct Support Professional to work with adults with developmental disabilities in a creativity-focused setting.

You will guide participants through art projects, music, and life-skill activities, helping them express themselves and grow in a supportive environment. The role offers flexible shifts (3-hour blocks) in Oceanside/San Marcos, CA, with a strong focus on safety, patient care, and fostering independence.

Qualifications

• Passion for helping others; reliability and commitment emphasized in job description.
• HS Diploma or GED required as minimum education.
• At least 6 months of related experience or training, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Support 3–4 individuals in a group setting through daily activities and creative programs.
• Engage clients in exercise, art, music, and more to make each day meaningful.
• Assist with activities of daily living at the appropriate level.
• Help with personal hygiene, toileting, and occasional feeding.
• Foster independence by offering choices throughout the day.
• Deliver individual program goals and behavior support plans.
• Assist with interventions designed to protect individuals with severe behaviors.
• Administer medications and provide basic first aid as needed.
• Ensure safety and respond to medical needs as they arise.

As a Direct Support Professional at TERI’s Center for the Arts, you’ll work directly with adults with developmental disabilities in a creativity-focused environment. You’ll assist participants with hands‑on art projects, music and movement activities, and life skills development. Role & Responsibilities –

• Support 3–4 individuals in a group setting through daily activities and creative programs
• Make every day meaningful and fun by engaging clients in exercise, art, music, and more
• Support individuals with activities of daily living at the appropriate level
• Assist with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, toileting, and occasional feeding
• Foster independence and empower clients by offering choices throughout the day
• Deliver individual program plans/goals and behavior support plans
• Assist with interventions designed to protect individuals who engage in severe problem behavior and those around them.
• Administer medications and basic first aid as needed
• Ensure safety and well-being by responding appropriately to challenging behaviors or medical needs

Qualifications –

• Passion for helping others, along with a strong sense of reliability and commitment.
  
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination in with special needs and experience working with adults in vocational or volunteer settings.

Salary –

$23.00 Hourly
