Qualifications

Passion for helping others; reliable and committed.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum 6 months related experience and/or training with adults with special needs.

Responsibilities

Support 3–4 individuals in a group setting through daily activities and creative programs.
Engage clients in exercise, art, music, and other activities to keep days meaningful.
Assist with activities of daily living at appropriate levels.
Assist with personal hygiene, toileting, and occasional feeding.
Foster independence by offering choices and enabling self-directed activity.
Deliver individual program and behavior support plans.
Assist with interventions to protect individuals and others.
Administer medications and basic first aid as needed.
Respond to challenging behaviors or medical needs to ensure safety.

As a Direct Support Professional at TERI’s Center for the Arts, you’ll work directly with adults with developmental disabilities in a creativity-focused environment. You’ll assist participants with hands-on art projects, music and movement activities, and life skills development. Your support will help individuals express themselves, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful, fulfilling experiences every day.

Role & Responsibilities –

Support 3–4 individuals in a group setting through daily activities and creative programs
Make every day meaningful and fun by engaging clients in exercise, art, music, and more
Support individuals with activities of daily living at the appropriate level
Assist with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, toileting, and occasional feeding
Foster independence and empower clients by offering choices throughout the day
Deliver individual program plans/goals and behavior support plans
Assist with interventions designed to protect individuals who engage in severe problem behavior and those around them.
Administer medications and basic first aid as needed
Ensure safety and well-being by responding appropriately to challenging behaviors or medical needs

Qualifications –

Passion for helping others, along with a strong sense of reliability and commitment.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination in with special needs and experience working with adults in vocational or volunteer settings.

Salary –

$23.00 Hourly
