Job summary

BBA Afterschool Inc. is seeking energetic and reliable After-School Sports Coaches to coach elementary-aged students in fun, structured sports programming throughout Alexandria, VA. This part-time, after-school role runs Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with 1.5-hour sessions.

Curriculum and equipment are provided, and no lesson planning is required. Coaches will gain hands-on experience, build leadership and communication skills, and have opportunities for advancement within BBA

Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching Basketball, Soccer, or Flag Football is preferred but not required.
• Comfortable working with children in grades K through 5.
• Reliable transportation to schools throughout Alexandria.
• Must successfully complete the required school district background check and fingerprinting process.

Responsibilities

• Coach elementary students in Basketball, Soccer, and Flag Football activities.
• Follow BBA's structured curriculum and lesson plans.
• Create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment.
• Supervise groups of approximately 15 to 25 students.
• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and participation.
• Communicate professionally with school staff and BBA leadership.
