Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher is required.
  • Preference for status as part‑time or full‑time staff or faculty at Albany State University.
  • Experience teaching first‑year students is preferred.
  • Involvement in retention or student success work is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain supervisor’s approval to teach ASU 1101.
  • Attend professional development training in Spring and Summer 2026.
  • Teach required course goals and learning outcomes.
  • Maintain regular communication with other learning community instructors.
  • Attend monthly UC Town Hall meetings.
  • Prepare and submit weekly progress reports on student performance.
  • Incorporate the assigned P3 mentor in course delivery.
  • Incorporate assignments based on the assigned focus area.
  • Use a point system for grading all ASU 1101 assignments using GA View.
  • Create an engaging environment and hold students accountable for learning.
