Qualifications

• Must possess Firefighter I and II or be actively working toward state certification within 90 days.
• Knowledge of Fire Prevention, Fire Suppression, Hazardous Materials, EMS, and modern firefighting equipment.
• Computer skills including typing, data entry, and using standard software.

Responsibilities

• Respond as a crewmember on emergency alarms including fire protection, EMS, rescue and hazmat situations.
• Drive and operate all fire apparatus as required.
• Perform daily tasks such as testing and maintaining apparatus, grounds, facilities and equipment.
• Assist in daily departmental operations including answering phones, correspondence, training and public relations.
• Enter and maintain incident reports using Firehouse Software, MS Office, or approved software.
• Conduct fire inspections and fire prevention programs within the community.
• Attend and participate in department training and work sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
