Job summary

The City of El Dorado is seeking Part-Time Firefighters to support daily staffing alongside full-time crews. This paid, non-benefitted position allows up to 999 hours of work annually and involves 12–24 hour shifts at Station 2.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, valid driver’s license, ability to pass tests, and Firefighter I within six months. EMT certification is preferred. The City conducts background checks and aims to serve the community with dedication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a physical ability test and background/medical screenings.
• Firefighter I (within 6 months of hire).
• HazMat Awareness/Operations.
• EMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and perform firefighting, rescue, and EMS support duties.
• Maintain monthly training and readiness requirements.
• Work 12–24 hour shifts as scheduled, primarily at Station 2.
• Follow department policies, safety standards, and supervision from company officers.
