Job summary

The City of El Dorado is seeking Part-Time Firefighters to support daily staffing alongside our full-time crews in El Dorado, KS. This paid, non-benefitted position allows up to 999 hours of work annually and pays hourly.

As a firefighter, you will respond to emergencies, perform firefighting, rescue, and EMS support duties, and complete monthly training while working 12–24 hour shifts at Station 2. A High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and certification readiness are

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and perform firefighting, rescue, and EMS support duties
• Maintain monthly training and readiness requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a physical ability test and background/medical screenings
• Firefighter I (within 6 months of hire)
• HazMat Awareness/Operations
• EMT certification preferred

Schedule & Pay

• Up to 96 hours per pay period / 999 hours per year
• Hourly compensation starting at $15.17/hour(Recruit or Firefighter grade based on certifications)
