City of Tomball currently has opening for a Part Time Firefighter in Tomball, TX. The role covers fire suppression, rescue, prevention, public education, and first aid response; testing will support an eligibility list for future full-time or part-time positions.

Applicants must hold a Texas firefighter certification, EMT certification, CPR/AED, and NIMS training, plus a valid Texas driver's license. A physical agility test, background check and drug screen are required.

• Must possess a Basic (or higher) Fire Fighter certification by Texas Commission on Fire Protection or a Firefighter I and II IFSAC Seal
• Current CPR/AED certification
• Must have completed NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
• Must possess EMT certification or higher (state or National registry)
• Must hold a valid Class C Texas driver's license (Class B within 1 year)
• Must pass physical agility test and oral interview
• Must pass pre-employment exam, background check and drug screen

Responsabilidades

• Works shift schedules including weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
• Runs, walks, stoops, bends, crawls, lifts and operates equipment and hoses up to 200+ lbs.
• Advances charged hoses up to 250 gpm at 100 psi spray or 50 psi straight bore.
• Deploys hoses, pumps apparatus, directs water streams and climbs ladders up to 100 feet.
• Performs search and rescue for trapped persons, including swift water rescue.
• Administers first aid and EMS to injured persons to EMT/Paramedic level.
• Works under dangerous conditions during fire suppression and EMS incidents.

Part Time Firefighter# Part Time FirefighterTomball, TX 77375## OverviewPosition TypePart Time## DescriptionThe City of Tomball is accepting applications for the positions of **Firefighter.** These positions participate in fire suppression, prevention, public education and rescue activities in protecting life, property and the environment, and provide first aid response to medical emergencies. This testing process will be utilized to establish an eligibility list for full-time and part-time firefighter positions (good for 1 year with an option to extend).**Reports To:** Fire Chief**FLSA:**Non-Exempt**Positions Supervised:**None**Pay Grade:** T-140**ESSENTIAL DUTIES:*** Works shift schedules including weekends, holidays, and extended hours in emergency, disaster or other situations influenced by workload or staffing difficulties.* Runs, walks, stoops, bends, crawls, rolls, climbs, jumps, lifts, (heavy objects weighing up to and exceeding 200 lbs., including human bodies and hoses), carries, drags and operates assigned equipment, vehicles while performing fire prevention and suppression duties.* With assistance, advances charged and flowing fire hoses discharging up to 250 gpm at 100 psi spray or fog or 50psi straight bore tip pressure.* Performs fire-fighting operations including deploying and operating hoses, pumping apparatus, directing water streams or other chemicals and raising and climbing unsupported ladders including ground and aerial of up to 100 feet.* Performs search and rescue for trapped or injured persons to include swift water rescue work with and without use of boat.* Administers first aid and emergency medical service to injured persons to level authorized by Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Certification.* Works under dangerous conditions and in hostile environments during fire suppression or emergency medical activities, aircraft emergency and incidents involving hazardous chemicals.* Other duties as assigned.**SALARY RANGE:*** **Hiring range** - $63,490 - $67,934**($21.80 - $23.33)*** **Salary range -** $63,490 - $90,156**Equal Employment Opportunity Statement -** The City of Tomball does not discriminate on the basis of Race, Color, National Origin, Sex, Religion, Age or Disability in employment or the provision of services.## Qualifications* Must possess a Basic (or higher) Fire Fighter certification by Texas Commission on Fire Protection or a Firefighter I and II IFSAC Seal* Current CPR/AED certification* Must have completed NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800* Must possess and maintain throughout employment a Texas Department of State Health Services or National Registry EMT certification or higher* Shall possess a valid Class C Texas motor vehicle operator's license.
