Job summary

City of Tomball is seeking a full-time Driver/Operator to drive and operate fire apparatus, participate in fire suppression, prevention, and rescue activities, and provide first aid in emergencies. Qualifications

• Two years' experience as a firefighter.
• Certified Firefighter through TCFP or IFSAC equivalent.
• Certified through the Texas Department of State Health Services as an EMT or higher or National Registry Certified.
• Certified D/O - Pumper through TCFP or IFSAC equivalent.
• Class A or B Texas Driver's License or out of state equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Operates and drives fire apparatus and emergency response vehicles.
• Maintains and inventories equipment and apparatus on board.
• Communicates with dispatch and command personnel via radio and data systems.
• Conducts pre-fire planning and hydrant maintenance records.
• Assists in fire suppression, rescue, prevention, and medical responses as needed.

This position drives and operates fire apparatus, participates in fire suppression, prevention, and rescue activities in protecting life, property and the environment, and provides first aid response to medical emergencies. Driver/Operators are certified to drive fire apparatus and operate all equipment according to TCFP Driver/ Operator - Pumper.
