Job summary

The City of Kettering is seeking a Contractual Part-Time Fire Safety Inspector to issue fire permits, perform inspections, and educate the public on fire safety. Under the Fire Chief's direction, you will enforce building and fire codes, investigate violations, and assist business owners and residents with compliance.

Ideal candidates will have NFPA standards knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of fire hazards and prevention.
• Knowledge of applicable building, fire, and related codes and laws.
• NFPA 1001/1021/1031 familiarity or firefighting experience.
• Must obtain Fire Investigation certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Issue fire permits and conduct inspections.
