Job summary

Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario, is seeking Fire Program Technologists on a part-time, on-call basis beginning September 2026. These roles support the Schools of Health Sciences and Emergency Services by maintaining fire training labs, assisting faculty, and ensuring safe, practical learning environments up to 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum one-year certificate in Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training or equivalent.
• NFPA 1001 Firefighter I and II certification is required.
• NFPA 1072 Hazardous Materials certification is required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• DZ licence is required.
• Experience in fire service or training environment preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, set up, organize, and maintain fire training labs and practical learning environments safely and efficiently.
• Support faculty with the preparation and delivery of practical laboratory activities.
• Assist with demonstrations and provide technical support related to previously taught skills and procedures.
• Prepare, inspect, organize, and restore equipment and training areas before and after scheduled labs.
• Maintain the operational condition, security, and organization of fire service equipment, supplies, and PPE.
• Reinforce safety procedures and report concerns or non-compliance to faculty.
• Collaborate with faculty and other program staff to support the Pre-Service Firefighter program.
