Job summary

Victory Pyrotechnics & Special Effects is seeking a part-time Accounting & Finance Specialist in Kansas to manage day-to-day financial operations. You’ll handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, sales tax across states, and project job costing to keep our records accurate and current.

You’ll work independently with leadership and operations, ensuring compliance and timely reporting while supporting continuous process improvements in a growing live-event production

Qualifications

• 2+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration experience.
• Experience with Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, and general bookkeeping.
• QuickBooks Online experience strongly preferred.
• Sales tax compliance across states is a plus.
• Project or job-cost accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience across multiple business entities is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable inbox, vendor bills, coding, approvals, and payments.
• Prepare and apply customer invoices, monitor receivables, and aging reports.
• Review and post bank transactions, resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research variances.
• Review spend-card transactions and collect receipts.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns across states and entities.
• Review project revenue and expenses for job costing and profitability.
• Prepare recurring cash flow reports for upcoming obligations.
• Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and documentation.
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and year-end 1099 preparations.
