Job summary

AuthoraCare Collective is seeking a part-time Phlebotomist - Primary Care to support home-based primary and palliative care services. The role involves venipuncture, specimen handling, and EMR documentation across a multi-county market footprint.

Flexibility and strong patient communication are essential as the phlebotomist works with LPNs and Providers to meet patient needs. The ideal candidate has a CPT or related phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification preferred.
• Previous phlebotomy experience in hospital/clinic/lab.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid state driver’s license and automobile liability insurance; own transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks for patients of all ages.
• Ensure correct patient identification and labeling of specimens.
• Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.
• Maintain organized and clean workstations; sanitize equipment.
• Communicate with patients to keep them informed and comfortable.
• Handle and store blood samples; deliver to laboratory.
• Record patient information in EMR accurately.
• Follow healthcare regulations and guidelines; assist with inventory and supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure efficient operations.
