Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Field Interviewers to conduct in-home interviews for the NSDUH study across the United States. You will contact households, explain the study’s importance, and gather responses while working a flexible schedule in the evenings and weekends.

The role requires traveling to locations, using provided tablets, and adhering to a field supervisor’s calendar. It is designed for long-term community health-focused work with opportunities for wage and perk benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Effective communication through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Available for training and data collection period.
• Able to complete training successfully.
• Valid US driver’s license and reliable car for business use.
• Comfort using RTI issued tablet and equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi-Fi for data transmissions.
• Ability to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark.
• Access to computer with webcam or internet-enabled device for trainings and meetings.
• Physical ability to carry and handle supplies up to 13 pounds.
• Variable work schedule per quarterly assignment.

Responsibilities

• Contact households and conduct interviews for the NSDUH study.
• Explain the importance of participation to respondents.
• Travel to locations to recruit participants.
• Make in-person contact and discuss the study with respondents.
• Adhere to the Field Supervisor’s schedule for contact times.
• Administer computer-assisted interviews and collect confidential information.
• Manage administrative duties and complete online trainings.
• Safeguard equipment and participant incentives.
• Submit timely Time & Expense reports.
• Attend virtual project team meetings and field supervisor meetings.
• Participate in field observations by RTI/client staff.
• Maintain project equipment updates and complete admin tasks.
• Work and drive after dark.
