Job summary

City of San Clemente Beaches, Parks & Recreation is seeking a part-time Field Ambassador to monitor and support the safe use of city athletic facilities, assist user groups, verify reservations, and respond to routine questions.

You will open and close facilities, support special events, communicate facility conditions, and serve as a visible City representative while upholding policies and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of principles of effective customer service and public interaction.
• Knowledge of basic recreational facility operations and athletic field use practices.
• Knowledge of applicable facility rules, policies, procedures, and safety practices.
• Knowledge of conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques.
• Knowledge of basic recordkeeping and report preparation methods.
• Knowledge of standard office software and mobile communication devices.

Responsibilities

• Monitor athletic facilities and identify operational, maintenance, or safety concerns.
• Communicate effectively with user groups, staff, volunteers, and the public.
• Exercise sound judgment when responding to facility issues and public concerns.
• Resolve routine conflicts in a professional and diplomatic manner.
• Prepare accurate logs, reports, and documentation.
• Work independently while carrying out assigned responsibilities.
