The University of Houston-Downtown Department of Urban Education seeks adjunct Field Experience Instructors for a part-time role with a 3-credit load per regular semester, supervising fieldwork for SAIS-Interdisciplinary Studies students.

Duties include coordinating with district partners, teaching in-person sessions, supporting students online, and providing feedback on lessons observed in partner schools.

Qualifications

• Holds a current valid Texas Educator certification.
• Minimum of an earned Master's Degree.
• Candidate is expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains relationships with campus personnel in local independent school districts partnering with the department.
• Teaches face-to-face meetings in support of fieldwork in which students are engaged.
• Provides online support to students engaged in fieldwork experiences.
• Observes students teaching lessons on a partner campus and provide verbal and written feedback.
• Observes students teaching lessons during normal school hours.
